ELEMENTARY

CAP is about creating a broader understanding of the food we eat and where it comes from. Grade 4 and 5 students start to understand the value and importance of agriculture in Alberta, the vast opportunities, and the people and producers that drive this industry.

The Spuds in Tubs Farm to School Program is designed to connect students with their local food system and help them develop a deeper appreciation for where their food comes from.

Your students will learn about plant biology, soil health and sustainable food production while growing delicious potatoes in tubs.
The program is for students in grades 3–9.

Junior Garden Club

Get Your Hands Dirty with the Junior Garden Club!

The Junior Garden Club exposes kids to a variety of fruits and vegetables and encourages taste testing straight from the ground. 

​

It's not just a club; it's a flavourful experience that combines nature, fun and tasty treats.

Ag for Life’s Rural Safety Unit travels to schools to educate, encourage and promote rural and farm safety. Programming is aimed at youth who live on, work, play or visit farms and ranches.

project AGRICULTURE provides teachers and elementary students with opportunities to explore timely and relevant topics, issues and challenges related to agriculture and our food system. Choose to learn with a project-based learning context or select targeted classroom activities. Curriculum-aligned resources and activities found throughout this website encourage students to interact with each other, their communities and farmers.

Our Ag for Life event, completely free of charge, offers 2–3 hours of interactive sessions in your gym or classrooms. Our safety experts and volunteers are dedicated to equipping students with crucial knowledge and skills for staying safe in rural environments.
