We are looking for a part time Education Facilitator (Contract Position) to join our team to assist with delivering school based agriculture education programs.
Agriculture for Life is a charitable organization dedicated to building a greater understanding and appreciation of agriculture and its fundamental connection to life. Since 2011, Ag for Life has been a leading voice in the promotion of agriculture, food and safety education. Through partnerships and collaboration, we offer high quality educational programming to children, youth and adults.
Reporting to the Programs Manager the successful candidate will work closely with the programs team to prepare, execute, and deliver quality agriculture education programs to students and youth at schools and events.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver educational programs, station events, and on-site promotions
Create an engaging and interactive learning environment, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful connections
Interact with students, staff, and the public with enthusiasm and professionalism
Set up and tear down of station events
Basic maintenance and upkeep of station equipment and vehicles
Qualifications:
Experience teaching or with community based learning environments
Proficient oral and presentation skills, with a high level of comfort when speaking to students and educators
Knowledge of Canadian agriculture, technology, food systems, and food security
Experience making connections to curriculum outcomes and delivering educational programs is considered an asset
Previous experience working with students or school aged children
Able to work evenings and weekends
Must be flexible and adaptable
Energetic and excited about agriculture
Team player with a positive attitude
