End Food Waste!

Did you know that wasting food is bad for the earth? There are a few reasons for this:

  1. Food takes energy and resources to make, like water to water the plants and gas to fuel farm equipment. When we waste food, all of that energy and resources have gone to waste, too.

  2. When we throw food out, it goes to the landfill. It breaks down there, and when it does, it releases greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, which heats the earth up. This is a problem because it results in extreme weather events, destroyed habitats, and rising sea levels.

It's important to stay positive! In honour of Earth Day (April 22), here's a puzzle full of good ways to help save the planet. Can you navigate your way through the maze, only passing through the positive actions?
