Did you know you can make chalk out of eggshells? With only a few materials, you can create your very own art supplies!
Have an adult help with this craft.
Materials:
Eggshells, 6-10
Hot water
Flour
Food colouring
Paper towel
Instructions:
Wash the eggshells very well, making sure there’s no membranes or egg remaining. Let dry.
Grind up the eggshells. You can do this in a food processor, with a mortar and pestle, or even using a rock against the pavement. Make sure there are no large pieces left. It should be a fine powder.
Put the eggshell powder in a bowl. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of flour to the powder. Then, add hot tap water to the powder little by little, until it forms a very stiff paste.
Add your favourite colour of food dye to the paste and mix well.
Place the paste on a piece of paper towel, and roll it into a cylinder. Let dry.
Draw a chalk masterpiece with your eggshell chalk!
