By signing up and completing our specially designed Art in Ag Lesson Plan, you'll not only provide a fun and educational experience for your students but also give them the opportunity to showcase their talent and win exciting prizes. Join us in celebrating the beauty and importance of agriculture through artistry!
The Art in Agriculture Contest is open to Alberta students in Grade 3 - Grade 12.
Submissions are accepted from May 1 to June 15 th, 2024.
One winning class will be selected to showcase their submissions in a slideshow presentation at Ag for Life's annual Harvest Gala.
The top 10 favorite pieces from across the province (individual submissions) will be selected to be showcased at the gala and auctioned. The creators of these winning artworks will receive a portion of the proceeds from the auction as a tangible reward for their exceptional contributions to the contest, celebrating their talent and dedication.

​Artwork must be related to agriculture. This could include farming, livestock, crops, rural landscapes, agricultural equipment, etc. The artwork should be one of the culminating project options –
a) Realistic Still Life Featuring Local Foods
b) Symbolic Still Life
c) Use Emphasis in a Still Life to Highlight Alberta Agriculture
d) Political and/or Narrative Still Life.
