Did you know that the chicken we raise for food is of the Broiler breed? In this issue of The Story or Food we learn about different breeds of chicken and their cycle from farm–to–table.

Chicken is one of the most popular sources of protein all across the globe! The meat and eggs can be used in a variety of nutritious dishes for breakfast, dinner and even dessert! Here in Canada, all chicken raised for meat and eggs is free-run, and never fed any added hormones or steroids. As the chicken grow they are fed a proper nutritious diet for each stage of growth, which typically consists of locally grown grains.
