It is an excellent source of high quality protein and essential nutrients needed by the body for optimal functioning. Beef: Beef is the culinary name for meat from cattle.
Cattle are found all over the world, from Canada all the way to Slovenia and even Australia. The only continent they are not found on is Antarctica. There are over 1000 breeds of cattle are recognized worldwide and in Canada we raise ten common types of beef cattle including: Angus, Hereford, Galloway, Charolais, Simmental, Limousin, Gelbvieh, Salers, Maine Anjou and Shorthorn.

Beef cattle are bred and raised specifically to provide meat or beef. Beef is an important part of the diet for many people because it contains protein. Protein helps the growth and healing of the body and gives us energy!
