Rural and Farm Safety Funding

Funding for Rural and Farm Safety Education for 2016 is Now Closed.  

Planning to host a Community Rural and Farm Safety Day in Alberta in 2017? Ag for Life can provide funding, resources and expertise in support of your event.


If your group or community has a safety program in place, Ag for Life can provide additional support to enhance the work you do.

Ag for Life is dedicated to supporting educational programming that improves rural and farm safety.

Funding applications are assessed on objective and subjective criteria. Here are general guidelines and eligibility criteria which are necessary to be met to obtain the requested funding.

Request for support will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Requested funding is to deliver a farm and rural safety program in Alberta communities, colonies or schools, reaching a minimum of 75 participants per event
  • Preference will be given to those initiatives that are, or intended to be, delivered on a multi-year basis
  • The program is outcome based, interactive, innovative, high quality, delivered by subject matter experts
  • Your organization has the ability and capacity to carry out the proposed initiative
  • Your program has potential volunteer opportunities for Ag for Life and its Founding Member employees and/or retirees to contribute to enhancing the project and/or organization
  • Your program offers opportunities for sponsorship recognition for Ag for Life and/or its Founding Member’s

Exclusions from Funding

We are unable to fund all requests, and applications from the following types of organizations will not be considered:

  • For-profit organizations
  • Commercial solicitors or third parties raising funds for a charity
  • Lobby and/or advocacy groups

Requests for the following funding types of sponsorship will also not be considered:

  • Travel, accommodations, meal expenses, conference fees, field trips and tours
  • Feasibility studies
  • Debt-reduction or core operating expenses
  • Statues, monuments and memorials

Agriculture for Life, Inc. reserves the right to decline applications for requests that exceed the resources of the Rural and Farm Safety Funding program and/or do not meet funding criteria. Organizations are welcome to re-apply for the same project. The new application should be updated and improved based on any changed circumstances and feedback received.

After you submit your application

When you submit an application, you will receive a confirmation at the contact email address listed in the application.

Typically, once we receive your full application, a final decision will be communicated to you within 10 business days.

Conditions for submitting a request

By submitting this Application, you: confirm that the information you provided is true, correct and complete to the best of your knowledge, contains no willful falsifications or misrepresentations, and that you are authorized by the organization you indicated in the Application to submit this Application on its behalf; consent to Agriculture for Life Inc. (“Ag for Life”) collecting and using any of your personal information that is contained in this Application and any other personal information that has been or which may be subsequently disclosed by you to Ag for Life or any of its representatives to consider and respond to this Application and for Ag for Life to communicate with you on subjects and events relevant to Ag for Life’s Rural and Farm Safety Funding; and agree that you may be contacted to provide additional information, to set up a meeting, host a site visit or present to an Ag for Life review committee.

Technical considerations
