(Calgary, May 13, 2016) – Ag for Life is pleased to announce its Rural Rally fundraising event held on May 11th at UFA’s Airdrie location, raised $15,206 from individuals and corporations with all proceeds going to the Red Cross in support of Fort McMurray.
Over 400 guests enjoyed a full dinner including beef on a bun, salads, beans and beverages. Dinner was served by donation. Entertainment was provided by local country singer Dustin Farr and Air 106.1 Airdrie.
“It was a true collaborative effort,” says Luree Williamson CEO Agriculture for Life. “The generosity of event supporters was truly inspiring. We could not have had such a successful event without their support,” adds Williamson.
“The loss resulting from the wildfires in Fort McMurray is a tragedy beyond words, but I am so impressed with the people of Alberta and from across Canada that have come together to help those that have lost so much,” says Bryce Lord Vice President Canadian Gas Operations, TransCanada. “TransCanada and its employees are proud to support the relieve efforts through our partnership with Ag for Life. The event was an outstanding success and I would like to thank the volunteers and all of those that came out to support this worthy cause,” adds Lord.
