Ag for Life brings together like minded partners from various sectors including agri-services

Agriculture for Life will host the Harvest Gala fundraiser on Nov. 3, 2012 to boost support for youth-focused school programs aimed at improving farm safety and creating enriched understanding of the positive contribution of agriculture in Alberta.

Ag for Life brings together like minded partners from various sectors including agri-services, energy, financial and not for profit along with farmers, ranchers and community leaders with a mission to  deliver educational programming that will serve to improve rural and farm safety and build a genuine understanding and appreciation of the impact agriculture has on the lives of Albertans. The goal is to reach 100,000 rural Alberta children aged 5 to 15 in the next two years.

This year’s reinvigorated Harvest Gala, at the Calgary Stampede BMO Centre, will feature a fusion of urban and rural styles, including locally produced foods, the sights and sounds of Alberta artists, a silent auction, and a unique community market where friends can connect. The event will rotate annually between Calgary and Edmonton.

Staging a Harvest Gala is a rich and long-standing tradition for the Alberta agricultural community. In the past more than 1,200 people from agriculture, business and government attended the event annually, which is being resurrected to celebrate the Agriculture industry and raise awareness and funds for Ag for Life programs.

“Industry, young people and community leaders will come together to celebrate the Harvest and benefit an outstanding new organization, Agriculture for Life, “said Chief Executive Officer David Sprague.
