He served as a member of the Tourism Calgary board for six years, was a member of the 2009 Calgary Grey Cup committee and has been a speaker and advisor to The American Press Institute. Carson holds a BA in Economics from the University of Calgary.

Why I think Ag is Where It’s At: Agriculture is a key strategic industry for the province of Alberta and for Canada as a whole. It formed the backbone of our historical international trade, helped develop and settle our country and is the foundation for our sustainability. As world population continues to increase and trading between countries grows, Agriculture will only become more critical to Canada’s future economic prosperity. It is necessary to promote this prosperity to future generations as the Agriculture Industry holds many opportunities for all Canadians.

Why Ag for Life:  ATCO provides service to more than 300 communities across Alberta. Agriculture is a driving force in the majority of those communities. Being an active community member has been an ATCO trademark for decades. Supporting an organization that raises Agriculture awareness and improves farm safety will have a very positive impact on the communities where our people work and live.
