2019 Agriculture Education Symposium

Join Ag for Life as we explore agriculture and the agri-food industry at our Fall 2019 Education Symposium.

The Education Symposium is an experiential learning event for grades 7 – 10 students and teachers designed to highlight the opportunities and challenges facing the industry as we strive to sustainably feed the world.

Hear from industry experts and discover the innovations that are leading the way in this rapidly changing industry. Both students and teachers will leave the program with a deeper understanding of agriculture and how it relates to the world around us.

Topics will include:

  • Selective seed growing – the science behind crop production and plant breeding
  • Integrating technology and agriculture – what does the future hold?
  • Indoor gardening and year-round harvesting
  • Aquaponics – farming, fishing and agriculture
  • Agriculture and the environment
  • The science of food – plant based proteins
  • Myth-busting – from GMOs to hormones and more
